Listening Station > 3/22

The weekend is here. Get it started with tracks from Boats, On-The-Go and The Kingston Springs.
– Boats – “O Telescope” off Boats third full-length, A Fairway Full Of Miners, is immediately infectious, compelling even. It clinches with big Talking Heads-esque bass, followed by a burst of unexpectedly noisy vocals and fuzz. It’s audaciously bratty; it’s in your face; and it’s fun.
– On-The-Go – Check out “Deception” from On-The-Go’s upcoming debut full-length November, set to release later this year. The track below offers a soulful electronic indie-pop sound that many wouldn’t expect from a band out of Russia.
– The Kingston Springs – Add a blues underbelly, surf guitar riffs, a pinch of Black Keys and a teaspoon of Jack White, and you get The Kingston Springs “Sa Betise,” off the band’s self-titled debut LP from Dec. 2012.
